Simple Future Tense

A.     Penggunaan Kalimat

1.                 Untuk mnyatakan aktivitas yang akan terjadi pada waktu yang akan datang.

Contoh:

We will know the results soon. I will be 25 years old next year.

2.                 Untuk   menyatakan    keputusan    yang    diambil secara tiba-tiba (an instant decision).

Contoh:

It is raining. I will take an umbrella.

3.                 Untuk menyatakan prediksi.

According to the weather report, it will be cloudy tomorrow.

4.                 Untuk menyatakan kesediaan untuk melakukan sesuatu.

Contoh:

A: The phone is ringing. B: I will get it.

 B. Pola Kalimat

-     Menggunakan Verb

(+) S + will + V-1 + O/C.

(-) S + will + not + V-1+ O/C.

(?) Will + S + V-1 + O/C?

S = Subject (Subjek)

V-1 = Verb-1 (Kata kerja dasar) O = Object (Objek)

C= Complement (Pelengkap)

Past Future Tense

A.     Penggunaan Kalimat

1.  Untuk mnyatakan rencana aktivitas pada waktu lampau, namun tidak terlaksana.

Contoh:

He would come here yesterday. Unfortunately, he fell sick

2. Digunakan dalam kalimat pengandaian tentang suatu keadaan yang berlawanan dengan kenyataan pada waktu sekarang.

Contoh:

If you studied hard, you would pass the exam (tapi kenyataannya sekarang kamu tidak sedang belajar dengan giat).

B. Pola Kalimat

-     Menggunakan Verb

(+) S + would+ V-1 + O/C.

(-) S + would + not + V-1+ O/C.

(?) Would + S + V-1 + O/C?

Past Future Perfect Tense

A.     Penggunaan Kalimat

Digunakan dalam kalimat pengandaian tentang suatu keadaan yang berlawanan dengan kenyataan pada waktu lampau.

Contoh:

If I had studied hard, I would have passed the exam (tapi pada kenyataannya dulu saya tidak belajar dengan giat, sehingga saya tidak lulus ujian)

B. Pola Kalimat

-     Menggunakan Verb

(+) S + would have+ V-3 + O/C.

(-) S + would + not + have +V-3 + O/C.

(?) Would + S + have + V-3 + O/C?
